Please, let's not be so easily fooled. The nations that have recently recognized Palestine are not aiding the Palestinians; this will not save a single one of them from the slaughter being perpetrated against them. These nations have recognized a Palestinian state to pacify their own citizens and to maintain their hold on power, its a evil charade to buy time for the regime.

And sadly, the fate of the Flotilla is not a good one. All those Navy ships "escorting" these ships of hope in the Mediterranean Sea, will not enter Zionists controlled waters, But even if the Zionist regime sinks every ship, and not one jar of peanut butter or one dose of insulin reaches the Palestinians, the action of these brave but naive people is a thousand times more meaningful.

I'm sorry to be so contrarian. I do agree that all hope is not lost for mankind as a whole. But seriously, what hope is there for the Palestinians? Yes, the people of the West are awakening to this ugly reality, but as with every previous tragedy, they awaken too late. And when they do, they never make amends or hold themselves accountable. Instead, they will, as always, quickly forget.

So while we're all kept distracted with these illusions of hope , Our overseers are cranking up the war machine, arming their Ukrainian proxy with more provocative missile systems, readying to launch another regime change attack on Venezuela and Iran, rounding up and silencing the dissenters whose fingernail polish offends them, and implementing more dystopian means of control.

"People will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think." - Aldous Huxley

"Distracted with these illusions of hope"

Isn't this preferable than being distracted by illusions of dread or fear? To be paralyzed with fear and to continually hit yourself over the head, crying, "I'm powerless! I'm stupid to think we could do anything to change things for the better!" isn't going along with the overseers' plans to control us and tell us what to think? I refuse to be brainwashed into thinking the way our overseers want us to think. That way leads nowhere. If we can keep hope alive, we will keep our eyes open and on what the overseers are doing and we won't forget them. Then we can take actions against them as needed. Without hope, we'd close our eyes in despair and death and do nothing.

I can see how you might see that as the only alternative, but such is not my thinking. As its impossible (out of fear) to explain bluntly, let me explain in metaphorically...

“In the battle between Good and Evil, Evil holds the upper hand, for it will do whatever evil it must, while Good cannot, lest it cease to be Good and become Evil itself.”

When the uniforms are on your side, that's when you have power.

Very true. It's time to work on the "uniforms". Trump is telling the military, ICE and local police forces to do things that are un-Constitutional. They are allowed to not obey non-Constitutional orders. We need to educate this population that they don't have to become immoral monsters like Trump.

It's crucial to have them on side - George Galloway had a LT colonel on his podcast which was related to the food distribution program, he went into detail that he had pledged allegiance to the US constitution, not a ''foreign country'' from that aspect treason appears to be effing common.

Over the years many have expressed similar views one that stood out was''how sincere was your oath''

As always, money has replaced morality, if someone doesn't want to do their job ''properly'' they'll find some sell out who will - the same applies to the Pentagon generals.

You might have the same reading list, Nader explained on Hedges podcast how Trump has committed a huge number of impeachable offences - nothing has come of it.....yet.

Really appreciate this optimistic post, and you're totally right! Just because the progress we've seen thus far hasn't been monumental, doesn't mean our actions are in vain or not working. The people united, will never be defeated as they say. I hope we can continue to use our power and make the effort to bring this genocide to an end, and freedom to the people being genocided.

"The people united will never be defeated!" We all need to use this as a mantra and repeat it whenever we doubt our own strengths, our power to change the world for the better.

agreed! it is a great reminder of the power of humanity as a collective, and a testament to what we can accomplish united in pursuit of making the world a better place. I hope more people can adopt it as their personal slogans and take solace in it

It's good to know that together our efforts do produce fruit. So many times we're told that we're all alone in our activism and that we can't possibly change things for the better. It's time we listened to our gut instincts and keep fighting these bastards until they run off with their tails between their legs. We got the power, people! Don't be afraid to use it!

We'll never know unless we try... I think once we've experienced a few "victories" of the people standing up for their rights, the rest will follow. Power to the people--and courage to us all in the battle for our lives.

Chris Hedges and Ralph Nader have good advice for activists: It's Time to Fight Back Against Trump's Fascist Regime (w/ Ralph Nader) | The Chris Hedges Report ... As the Trump administration's repression increases by the day, Ralph Nader reminds us that we are not "nobodies," and that together, with collective power, we can invoke serious change.

I love both of these writers. And Ralph Nader is absolutely right--we are not "nobodies," and we've got the power to invoke serious change. I just tend to emphasize more of the positive aspects of our collective power, and I stay away from invoking the orange-faced shitstain's name and tactics too much. We have to keep up the morale in our "troops," and it's better to focus on the things we can do than what the evil opposition is trying to do to us. Power to the people!

Yes! We have the power. We have the numbers but we need at least 80% of the 99% unified.

Funny you should mention percentages, but I read about a recent poll that said 59% of Americans were against Trump and what he's doing/attempting to do. Now, I took statistics in college and learned how easily numbers from polls/surveys can be massaged... Most surveys have a plus or minus of 3 to 4% standard, but it has been seen that when a group is motivated to push their narrative, that can slip into the double digits... So, could the real poll results be closer to 80% than 60%? Either way, more than half of Americans are motivated to see positive changes made. We're there or almost there for being "unified" on at least one issue (getting rid of Trump), so we could be already be there on stopping the genocide. We just need to get the ball rolling on ending our relationship with the Zionist regime and see how quick it snowballs from there.

Agree. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. We must get rid of tRump and aIPAC. Instead of AIPAC it should be IPAC since they control Congress and seem to own the nation.
