It is liberating in a way, isn't it? We no longer have to keep these "fairy tales" alive in our minds once we've come to terms that they're just that lies--lies to keep us all under the oligarchs' control. The illusion shattered, we're free to be ourselves and say "Hell no!" to the immoral actions of our so-called leaders.

I'm fine with the diagnosis but not sure about the prescription. They ARE sociopaths, so we can't shame them or cause guilt. What you suggest could cause enough annoyance and discomfort to cause them to weigh options--but currently the obvious option is repression. Besides, Gaza is the catalyst but the sickness goes deeper than the Israel situation or the beacon of hypocrisy--the root problem is a culture based on domination, which started thousands of years ago and has been spreading, mostly via violent conquest, all over the world. Domination of women by men, of lower classes by upper classes including dark-skinned by white-skinned, and above all domination of everyone else by humans. It's the last one that is now threatening advanced life on Earth, via climate change, plummeting biodiversity , spreading plastic and PFAS and other pollution, the threat of nuclear war, and the threats of biological or AI war schemes. Given that our species' (and others') survival is at stake, we need a MASSIVE reset. It could begin in the USH since this is the current HQ of the empire, and the main block to global initiatives seeking to end war, solve global poverty, address climate change, and pass treaties on everything from the rights of the child to defending marine biodiversity. But I'm afraid the only way we'll be able to implement that massive reset is with a crash of such magnitude that it finally breaks the sociopaths' hold on power (a great deal of which is rooted in their control of communications media) and persuades the masses that clinging to the old ways is absolutely untenable. That crash appears to be imminent, but the rate of damage is ramping up faster than ever. And when it's over, the survivors will likely be trying to steer their own small communities into creating better governance and cultural systems
I agree the crash appears imminent. We've got to let it crash completely if we have any hope of turning things around for the people or the planet. Too many want to "fix things incrementally from the inside" of this corrupt system, and that's only prolonging the worldwide anguish, IMO.
Trouble is, it's all so unpredictable. Maybe we need to fight to defend democracy and the rule of law, because what the maniacs running the US want now is to usher in absolute rule, no dissent allowed and what many if them want to do with that power is crazed pipedreams of trips to Mars. a panopticon total surveillance state, downloading into computers, eternal life (for a few, of course)--and they may do an enormous amount of damage before they bring the whole thing down. They may bring ECOSYSTEMS down. I'm afraid, if there are human survivors, they'll be talking about this time in ten thousand years because they'll still be coping with the aftereffects, the reverberations of this time of massive irresponsibility. It's a permanently impoverished world we're handing on to future generations because we can't knock down the sociopaths who have power--and under a system based on domination, it's nearly always sociopaths who have power.And because we can't get most of our fellow 99% to understand what's going on, to care, to get off the couch, But this is largely because the ruling class owns the narrative--they own the media.
We do have to get control of the narrative and keep it in the people's hands. Substack and other social media platforms are helping in that regard. but it's not enough. We've got to deal with a lot unpredictable maniacs on top of all the other dilemmas, environmental, social and political. It sounds overwhelming, but we don't have much of a choice if we want humanity to still be here in the next century. We've got to "cowboy up" as they say in the rodeo world. We've got to get tough and take out the sociopaths and their narrative ourselves. There's no other option, as I don't believe in Fairy Godmothers.
