Great article about Francesca Albanese`s work, her bravery, she is amazing, perhaps the most powerful voice of moral conscience that we have today.

But I respect and admire Francesca Albanese too much to wish her the dishonor of the being given the Imperialist`s most coveted virtual signalling prize.

The Nobel Peace Prize has certainly taken some hits in recent times with dubious award-winners such as Obama and Kissinger, but it would go a long way to reclaiming its previous glory if an actual peacemaker got the prize instead of a warmonger. Francesca Albanese and the doctors of Gaza are perfect nominees, IMO.

Sorry, my friend, but in my book, the evil imperialist establishment doesn’t redeem itself by pinning a medal on Francesca Albanese and posing for photos with her. That’s just lipstick on a pig.

Do you not see the systemic hypocrisy in all of this? Look at how many are distracted by this theater of absurdity, a peace prize founded by a merchant of death whose life’s enterprise profited from war and enabled the killing of millions. Are we to ignore the fact that the Nobel Committee of this supposedly peace-loving Norwegian state, represents the very same government which was so eager to join NATO and help stoke the flames of war and hatred of Russians.

The hypocrisy is staggering, do we need more evidence of how deep our collective delusion runs in our veins. That so many are so easily hypnotized by the pageantry is a testament to widespread cognitive dissonance. But hey, why should that matter? These days we care more about “aesthetics”, truth, facts are just inconvenient disruptions to our illusions.

The deep irony is that this spectacle gives people a convenient excuse to ignore their own moral complicity in genocide. It`s an Anglo-European crime, the decades long tragedy of Palestine gains nothing, and redemption cannot be had by bestowing a medal on someone.

Let me repeat: I respect and admire Francesca Albanese immensely. But it is, after all, her job to speak out, she is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

That she is brave enough to actually do that job is remarkable. But so are the thousands of doctors, nurses, aid workers, and ambulance drivers who do their jobs without accolades. There are no prizes for the thousands who have been killed while serving others, people whose names we will never even know.

If we truly believe in revolution, then we must revolt against all its theatrics.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't see the nomination of Francesca Albanese so much as theatrics or kissing up to the hypocritical Norwegians of the Nobel committee, rather than the ultimate protest... The ultimate take-over of the establishment that thinks it rules over all of us and can make us think exactly the way they do, up to and including that a genocide isn't happening in Gaza and Israel and the US/the West are to blame. Would Francesca and the brave doctors of Gaza actually win the prize if they were nominated? Probably not. But if someone like Trump did over Francesca and the doctors instead, then the total hypocrisy of the system is exposed to the world. It would be hard to explain why a genocidaire would win a peace prize rather than actual peacemakers to the ignorant public that might have bought into the zionist propaganda. And think how the mainstream media would have to tie itself in knots trying to explain that outcome! I'd love to see them all sweat and squirm.

It’s interesting how we differ on this, though I appreciate that we both share the same end goal. All revolutions are wrought with ideological differences and that’s a good thing, so long as it doesn’t become destructive.

A week ago, we engaged on the post about “Making the Existing Model Obsolete,” but now you say it would be a “takeover”? Seriously, let’s not kid ourselves. It’s not a protest if Francesca wins the Peace Prize. Her work is shedding light on the tragedy, and that’s a great thing. The Nobel Committee can’t be so blind to that, can they?

I, on the other hand, would be happy to see Trump get the Peace Prize, the ultimate farce. Perhaps then we might see the dismantling or abandonment of these pretentious and useless institutions that the imperialists created to control, entertain and distract us.

Trump is doing more damage to the empire than any external force could ever hope to do. The empire will not change its ways voluntarily , so I say: let it collapse and better it happen from within.

There is a lesson to be learned in how the BRICS nations are dealing with imperialist threats, how Iran is confronting the Zionists, and in Russia’s recent response to Trump’s 50-day ultimatum. In short, the world is moving on. It can’t prevent the imperialists from throwing a tantrum; they understand there will be some damage but they’ve already moved on.

I wish there were millions of Francescas in the world working to undo the horrors the MIC, Big Oil and Big Tech have wrought. She is the example of how to be a good human we should teach our children and grandchildren. Stay safe and carry on, Francesca!

Indeed, she is an exemplary role model for us all. Let's be sure she stays safe, shall we?

Francesca Albanese is a hero in my eyes. She’s standing on the right side of history. She deserves the Nobel Peace Prize (not Trump, not Netanyahu)

The Revolution Continues's avatar

I thought at first Netanyahu was making a big joke at nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, but then I thought again and thought maybe he wasn't. These sick and twisted, narcissistic individuals have no idea what "peace" is, do they?

‘… threatening the real power.’

Didn’t take much, did it.

May it never be that anyone have a mind of their own!

May it never be that alternative narratives become more compelling among the peons than our … ‘creative fictions!’

The cracks are showing indeed!

The Revolution Continues's avatar

It's time to crack open the "cracks" and fully expose the dark and evil oligarchs for what they are! Francesca Albanese is showing the world the way to do so, and we all would do well to follow her lead.

GS-z-14-1's avatar

That most assuredly is coming. ‘Bring it on.’

Susan T's avatar

Maybe Francesca Albanese's bravery will inspire others with power to speak out against all those corporations and the genocide they have promoted and supported. I am thankful to her for her bravery and because we all need a bit of hope in these upside down times.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

Francesca's smile and confidence gives us all hope that We the People eventually are going to "win" and shut down the oligarchy, thereby ending all genocides and wars forever. Truly that confidence is worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize!

Diana van Eyk's avatar

I agree. If anyone deserves the Nobel Peace Prize it's Francesca Albanese. She is fearlessly standing on the right side of history and I have so much admiration for her.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

We should all want to stand on the right side of history like Francesca. Amazing how the tone-deaf sociopaths in power think standing on the side of the genocidaires is admirable. It's time to show them they're wrong!

Diana van Eyk's avatar

I agree, and I think they're finding out.

The same country that is sanctioning the UN Human Rights Rapporetur......removed sanctions on known zionist terrorists, in order to enable the massacre of palestians:

https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/05/20/2022-10828/in-the-matter-of-the-designation-of-kahane-chai-and-other-aliases-as-a-foreign-terrorist

In the Matter of the Designation of Kahane Chai (and Other Aliases) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization

A Notice by the State Department on 05/20/2022

Antony J. Blinken Secretary of State.

And they did that well before the much mentioned "October 7th", so this entire massacre, oncluding the one going in in the West Bank too, was planned, not a "reaction", not "self defense".

Gail Shields's avatar

Thanks for posting that citation and exposing another of the many ways they enforce their torturous policies!

The Revolution Continues's avatar

That 2022 date really shows you just how long this genocide had been planned by both the US and Israel. Evil Blinken, Biden and many others in the US establishment have been helping Netanyahu set up the ideal conditions in order to launch it. They knew they'd profit from it greatly and were salivating at the chance.

Kojo's avatar

The fact is that the zionist machine has long controlled the government of the world's most powerful country. Whether it is the orange one, the senile one, Blinken, Rubio, Nuland, Clinton the wife, Samantha Power, they have agents in there all day long.

Also if you put 2 and 2 together on this Epstein scandal, you can also go back and look at the riculously one-sided Oslo accords with a two state solution that was never going to happen: see the picture of who is standing in between a Rabin who got the zionists their fake ceasefire and standdown, and an Arafat who looks like he had to do whatever he was told after looking at the file Mossad probably had on him. Right there in that pictures, in between them is someone who probably ALSO had a look at a huge file Mossad had on him and did what he was told.

Remember how the western power put pressions on another courageous UN rapporter, Nils Melzer in Assange the case

The Revolution Continues's avatar

Yes, Nils took a lot of heat for his work defending Assange before the world. We should thank all the UN special rapporteurs for their diligence and fearlessness.
