I'm not sure they were thinking. At all. The idea of mixing the military and warfare with the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is just sickening the more you think about it. Thus, the evidence is there--the parade organizers were totally brainless.
What the hell is Santa doing with a Marine by his side? That most Americans don't get that it's an abomination is indicative of how sick our society is. But I am thankful to all who are still protesting this US armed genocide, and I wish peace to the Palestinian people and for their homes to be returned to them soon.
You're welcome. Why we haven't risen up yet is a mystery to me, too. Perhaps we need to inform a few more million individuals to the reality that we could be the next group to be genocided by the US war machine--the working class in the West. As long as American workers are convinced all they have to do to have a good life is keep their heads down and enjoy the bread and circuses, the oligarchs will rule.
I could only hope to have an ounce of the courage and endurance of the Palestinian people. They are true heroes! We all should be thankful for their strength and for their leadership against all this madness. (And Santa should stick a bunch of hickory switches in the military-industrial complex's stockings this year.)
LOL!! I was thinking of saying "Santa should give them all lumps of coal," but then I thought that might help them and the Fossil Fuels corporations too much!
More than anything, TRC, I am thankful for those who are unafraid to speak out.
Such as yourself.
Thanks! I'm thankful that you're not afraid to read and learn and speak out, too.
I saw the footage of the parade. WTF were they thinking?

Amen! There is no "Peace on Earth" until there is peace in Palestine (and Lebanon).
Thank you. I'm horrified every day. I mourn for how it could be. I'm 76 years old. Why are we not rising up against these criminals?

I am thankful that we don’t have Armageddon…although that could change at any moment.
I am thankful for the endurance and courage of the Palestinians who have born the brunt of abuse and state violence all the time I have been alive.
The image of Santa on a hummer with the military sums up the madness , thank you.

Me too , remembering the quote from the late , great Anthony Bourdain…”Most things are made in china, but courage is made in Palestine. “
Ideally I would like Santa to deliver their products back to the Military manufacturers…I am way past hickory sticks 😂

True, where I originally come from , lumps of coal are given to your neighbours at New Year,,To wish them warmth and abundance.
