Why should we, as human beings with empathy and compassion, feel obligated to follow the orders and rules of a government run by creatures who exhibit no humanity toward human beings whatsoever?
Some years ago I read a novel by Dean Koontz (I don’t remember the title) in which a cleverly disguised group of human goblins were at work to take over and infect the world. At the time, my husband and I thought that the story was not all that far-fetched. Now I’m thoroughly convinced!
My husband and I think the narcissists and narcissistic sociopaths all came down on spacezships from some other planet to colonize Earth.Upon arrival, each were handed a small book depicting how human beings behaved and showed empathy, but they never really mastered it.
We should have listened to Dean! It is amazing how we've let the "goblins" infiltrate and take over running the world to their advantage. Didn't we see them doing so? Why did we think it was okay or even beneficial for us to have them rule us? We definitely need to learn critical thinking skills in Western society!
VERY powerful article, Cindy… will you please see my comment on Caitlin’s newest column affirming the existence of vampires?
Vampires are not human ,therefore they have no “humanity” (which is a word I’m beginning to find oxymoronic. Other-than-humans display more “humanity”.) When is the last time an elephant bombed a hospital?….rather, they are very solicitous of their injured and elderly.
I don’t believe our Fearless Leaders are aliens, but rather vampires hand-picked by IsraHell, since I truly don’t believe that aliens mean us harm. And yes, I witnessed my first UFO over the Sangre de Cristo range in Colorado last summer. I waved to it; I hope it saw me.
The vampires must be destroyed, and as the Axis of Resistance has proven, it doesn’t take a silver bullet to do so.
I'll go over and check out your comment. But I agree that the vampires need to be destroyed. They'll take a stake to the heart (silver bullets are for werewolves), but we've got to shut down the vampire empire machine and replace it with true humans.
We are ruled by the monsters in our government who exhibit no humanity towards other human beings. Having wealth is a form of disassociation in my eyes. It's a way for elites at the top, who are in positions of power, to disconnect from the suffering of others. They are faux humans. They are incapable of compassion, kindness, and understanding.
That being said, this is a great rant to start the morning off.
Thanks for your kind words about my "rant", Poonam. I think it's good that more and more people see the monsters in government. Maybe the monsters aren't hiding their true selves any more because they feel invincible? We need to continue to expose them and their weaknesses and take them out one by one. If we have compassion for all of humankind, we can't afford to let the faux humans rule over us.
It stretches wide to embrace the vastness of the human collective, our cities, our cultures, our triumphs and tragedies. Yet it also narrows down to a single gesture: the act of affirming another’s existence.
To say you are is perhaps the most sacred recognition one being can offer another.
René once said, “I think, therefore I am.”But thought alone is insufficient.
If you refuse to see me, deny my breath, erase my story, what am I then?
When we negate the existence of the other, does our humanity merely fall short?
Or does it become its opposite, the antimatter of our own humanity?
And as antimatter obliterates matter, so too does it annihilate the soul.
With no soul, what remains?
No remorse.
No regret.
No empathy.
And no hesitation to silence the multitudes.
We may still walk upright, speak elegantly, even rule the empire,
but are we human? That is the cruel paradox: we can be human in form,
yet completely void of any trace of what makes us worthy of that name.
Humanity is not something we can passively possess.
It is something we must be, always, and sometimes, to truly be, we must pay a great cost.
The only true measure of our humanity is in how we treat fellow humans.
Our refusal to accept some as our fellow humans that is our original sin.
The death and destruction we inflict, whether by our own hand or another’s,
is still ours.
The exceptionalist, supremacist, or self-proclaimed chosen one, deludes himself that he is separate, separate from the rest of humanity.
In doing so, does he not choose to be something other than human?
We are not human by default.
We become so by choice.
And if we choose otherwise,
then the question is not whether we deserve humanity
"When we negate the existence of the other, does our humanity merely fall short?
Or does it become its opposite, the antimatter of our own humanity?"
Well said! To not recognize the humanity of the other is to destroy our own... We need to recognize and affirm each other. Those who can't show compassion and empathy need to be removed from society and kept from hurting others.
How can I not welcome thoughts which, at first light, appear to reflect my own? But the thoughts that precede them leave me with sorrow. No, my friend, let us not speak of “removing” anyone from our societies. Such thinking lies at the root of our tragic circumstance.
Perhaps restraint must sometimes be employed. But those who cannot show compassion and empathy are precisely the ones who test our humanity. They are the very ones who need our humanity, for like us, they too are products of the societies we have created.
Societies that divide and separate us from our fellow man. Societies that discard the “undesirables” like trash.
Perhaps our real challenge is to stop producing trash?
It would be wonderful it we could meet that challenge. If tomorrow a cure was available to create instant empathy in all humans, I'd hope that it was put in the water supply and everyone would get a chance to drink it. Until then, we're going to have to protect the vulnerable from those who are missing that trait, otherwise we are condemning the vulnerable to suffering and possible death. It may seem like we're "separating" ourselves from our fellow man, but to protect the vulnerable, there has to be some sort of "wall" to keep them safe from harm.
Though I lack faith in a supreme being, I am not closed minded to the possibility of a magical universe, for often it conspires to come to our aid.
This morning, such did happen, while watching a YouTube video of The Useful Idiots channel, the concept of "The Banality of Evil" was mentioned, it’s a phrase taken from an essay by Hannah Arendt, published in The New Yorker on February 16, 1963.
In short, we are all capable of evil, and when it becomes normalized, commonplace, we no longer recognize it as evil. Thus, our humanity is not murdered by a single blow, more often it is "death by a thousand cuts." but for most there is never a funeral, no ceremony, no tombstone, for their humanity never really dies, it’s just wounded and most are unaware how badly they are bleeding.
So we have many wounds to heal, for there is no vaccine to cure us. Perhaps we must restrain some of the very ill and violent patients among us, but they should remain with us, for they are part of us.
It is worrisome to think we should allow such heartless monsters run our government and tell us how to think, what to do. It's as if the aliens from outer space have conquered us, not aliens from other countries we have destroyed with our unethical capitalism.
It is worrisome that we are still trying to "make friends" with these monsters in government. We still think if we beg them not to vote a certain way on a bill in Congress that they will listen to us and do as we tell them to. Nothing could be further from the truth! It's time for us to be bold and replace the "aliens that have conquered us" and replace them with real flesh and blood human beings who have empathy and compassion for all.
First, that's a partial definition of humanity. Humans are also capable of cruelty and evil. Second, you're wrong about at least Trump not caring hat others think of him--he's utterly obsessed with what others think of him, needs constant validation (and oddly, doesn't care if it's coerced)--he enjoys the trappings of power but doesn't actually care about policy, which is why he's letting Musk run the government. And third, the inability of normal humans to prevent sociopaths from seizing power is the root of all our problems, now traching a terminal stage.
Yes, we've got to stop the sociopaths from seizing (or being in) power. Things won't get better until they are removed and kept far away from where they can hurt others. To think we can bargain with these faux human is only going to lead to more war crimes and suffering. And Trump is just your garden-variety narcissist... Deep down he's terribly insecure and that's why he craves attention and validation. He can get plenty of that in prison as far as I'm concerned!
Yes, I think it's insecurity at the root of the narcissism in Trump and Musk (although Musk is less pure narcissist--he's also a megalomaniac and a drug fiend). The thing I find interesting is that they cheat. Like Trump cheats at golf and both surround themselves with sycophants; Trump bullies people into praising him. In other words, their self-esteem is somehow externalized. I can't imagine feeling proud of winning if I knew I cheated. For them, feeling okay requires that OTHERS heap praise on them. And--like my father, who had some narcissistic traits--they seem to feel they must be perfect, wonderful, exceptional--or else they're utter worthless dogshit.
Maybe they can't teach their children compassion and empathy because they've never really experienced it themselves? I think Z-ism is a societal disease that has infected millions worldwide and prevents them from seeing others as true equals. But if they can't be cured, we need to put them away where they can't hurt others any more.
Wealth and unlimited political power are a bad combination.
As Chris Hedges said in 2013 on the pathology of the superrich:
“…The rich are different, because when you have that much money, then human beings become disposable. Even friends and family become disposable and are replaced. And when the rich take absolute power, then the citizens become disposable, which is in essence what’s happened. There is a very callous indifference..."
Thanks for the link, Kojo. Chris Hedges using the term "pathology" is right. The hoarding of money and resources has driven the super rich insane. They don't see themselves as one of us--they are "superior" and, therefore, we are "inferior" and not worth crying over if it's necessary to sacrifice us for their gain. That means we can't just sit back and let them get away with their sick behavior--our lives are at risk. It's time to fight back and take back humanity's destiny from the faux human billionaires.

Was their arrival before or after the Stone Age, I wonder?

Humanity is a word of dual nature.
It stretches wide to embrace the vastness of the human collective, our cities, our cultures, our triumphs and tragedies. Yet it also narrows down to a single gesture: the act of affirming another’s existence.

As a parent one has the responsibility to raise ones children with compassion and empathy. Obviously the Zionists do not do this.

Thanks for all of the links, and a great article. I couldn’t agree more.
You're welcome, Tara. It's good to know that there are "humans" out there who appreciate my work.
There's nothing like a great rant to start one's day. This is a great rant.
Thanks, O.B.! A rant a day keeps the capitalists at bay! ;-)

His assessment is more and more on point with every passing day.

Good point, tick box humanity is not a safe checking procedure.
