I know how difficult it is for many of us to trust strangers and to come together, but if we don’t put aside our petty differences and cooperate then… Nothing will happen. Nada.
Bravo to the people who braved the Arctic temps and made their voices heard! They are making a difference, but we must keep it up... We can't stop the actions. The sadistic billionaire class must be torn down and replaced by a community of empathy and compassion. We will win if we keep heart and don't let up. ✊
I am compelled to A] Applaud and encourage your optimism; but B] warn folks about the corruptibility of the human ego that makes it easy in group organizing to see the worst narcissists rise to organizational power positions and screw things up, as has likely happened with national DSA. In my opinion, organizing , if possible, should remain local, eschew the spotlight, organizers remaining behind the scene, letting demonstrations speak for themselves. Tamp down the egos. A tall order, history tells us.
Yeah, anywhere there are human beings, there are going to be a few people who think it should be all about them and their desires first and foremost. Organizations need to be democratic and welcome feedback from all their members in order to prevent the narcissists from rising to the top and taking hold.
