I exercised my imagination by doing some research of my own. It eliminated the hatred and fear that mainstream media propagandists peddle to maintain the status quo.
There's a majority of mindless Americans out there who are content with the status because they receive enough benefits from it that they don't want it to go away anytime soon. These are the viewers and believers of the MSM garbage. They're the ones who elect genocidal maniacs like Biden and keep doing so without thinking. We're going to have to electric shock these self-centered racist types awake first before their imaginations can be revived.
I'm afraid you're right. The images of death and destruction on an industrial scale coming from Gaza are helping shock some of them awake, but the stubborn, dyed-in-the-wool racist-elitist types propose a challenge. We've got to come up with some innovative tactics of "revival of their consciences" before their imaginations can even begin working properly.
I agree. MSM is just too insulting to take seriously. My husband really enjoys yelling at the TV screen, though. Sort of his way of "protesting the establishment" when he can't get out and stand on the corners with a sign or flag.
" in fact, it’s the Western economies who have suffered the most since they began sanctions against Russia. ..."
Actually is the EUROPEAN economies that are suffering. The US economy, or at least big US companies and the rich people that mostly own those companies, are doing well since the sanctions.
The European people are also suffering from this disease you mention in this article. Because European "leaders" like Macron, Schøltz, Sunak, Rutte, Gahr Støre, Meloni are all one long list of puppets who tell their people the lies the US wants told. And the people believe them. If you have a discussion with German people for example, who have suffered 4-5x rise in energy costs from the US sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline, imposing sanctions, and selling them US LNG at 4-5X the price....the German people actually believe that Russia which owns half the pipeline (the other half being owned by BASF and other German capitalists) blew up its own pipeline. I mean talk about being brainwashed.
It is amazing how any Germans can believe the US is their "friend" after all the shenanigans we've pulled on them with blowing up the Nordstream and then selling them our more expensive LNG. It's disgusting and far from friendly! But I do believe that everyday working class Americans are suffering under these asinine sanctions as our food and fuel prices keep going up and up and up... The wealthy capitalists will never suffer under this perverse and corrupt system that the mainstream media propagandists try to convince us is "freedom and democracy."
No doubt prices are up in the U.S. I was there not long ago and shocked at what stuff costs in everyday life including not only food and housing but also things life mobile phone service, internet etc. However if you look at the U.S. sanctions they are mainly designed to rape Europe.
Energy process in the U.S. go up do to cartel power. And this mirrors the rest of the economiy. There was a research study in the past year that debunked the Fed and the economists much repeated lie about “labour costs” rising and driving inflation in the U.S. The study showed that in fact it was that the concentration of corporate pricing power - oligopoly in other words - that allowed US companies to keep jacking up domestic prices and housing profits.
But in Europe the economic structure is different and the driver is actual energy costs going up and spreading inflation around the economy.
BTW the new U.S. and EU tariffs on electric cars will have the effect I mentioned above: enable big biz to tape the average buyer.
So that’s a similar example but in general it’s the EU that actually has a reel rise in costs while the U.S. is greed-flation.
"Greed-flation" is a nice way of saying "price gouging" all right! "Labor costs" are just another way of saying capitalists don't want to pay workers decent wages, but pretend they do and then raise prices and blame the workers for the higher prices so the workers can all hate and blame each other--not the capitalists. In the end, we are all getting screwed by the US war machine economy.
Not according to good ol' Genocide Joe, alas. Only "the good guys" would sell bombs to the IDF we're told via the mainstream media propagandists. It's why so many Americans are suffering severe cognitive dissonance lately and starting to doubt those in authority. GOOD!
That is a good way to put it--we're stimulating imaginations, desperately trying to get folks to develop critical thinking skills. If they don't, they're doomed to fall for the lies of the status quo. (Be sure to check out this artist's unique was of bringing attention to the genocide of Gazans: https://venerations.cargo.site )
I'm so glad there are others out there who yell at network newscasts. I was beginning to think maybe we'd finally gone totally and utterly mad. (My husband yells, while I very politely give them my middle finger. I suppose the NSA who peeks through all our screens nowadays gets the picture and passes the word along to the Ministry of Truth.) ;-)

I can't even listen to MSM. It's such an insult to our intelligence.

Well said.

Truth - pure and simple. We ARE the baddies!

Bravissima! As artists, we are pivotal in stimulating the imagination as you point out throughout your piece we desperately need.

Thanks for the shout out to Ursula K. LeGuin, one of my favorite writers of all time.
