The US is, in academic terminology, an example of “inverted totalitarianism.” That seems like a fancy way of saying “oligarchy.” I prefer “donocracy” (credit unknown X poster), and if you read Seymour Hersh’s description of how Biden “stepped down” (the donors made the call) you’ll see just how apt it is.
We called them "nesting dolls" when I was little, and they're similar to plastic eggs, but you can cram a lot more money into a plastic egg shell. (I've tried it before and it works!)
And I live to upset the AIPAC lobby, so there! I did it without really trying. LOL!!!
Yellen is a clown who just runs around spraying lies that no one could possibly believe.
Working people are suffering, and the rich ever richer from controlling every commodity and most of the big companies that sell everything...and she tells us inflation is due to "wage pressure".
Americas oligarchs are too lazy and greedy to innovate or compete, and she runs to China to tell them they have "overcapacity". At least the Chinese laughed her out of town.
So when she runs this political interference, violating her oath of office and denying federally mandated funds to a political opponent, its just one more in her long list of lies.
What a disgrace of a person and a disgrace to the profession of economics.
Yellen is a real "winning personality." That line about China having "overcapacity" made me laugh the other day. I'm waiting for the day BRICS officially becomes the biggest economic bloc in the world.
The more you learn about how the US government actually works, compared to how they claim it works, the more you want to tear it all down and start from scratch. The Jill Stein campaign is just the beginning of this "house cleaning" movement. We need to support all alternative parties and their candidates and let the billionaires and their flunkies in politics know that their money doesn't "talk" anymore.
Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine would agree--tear it down! Many folks have quit voting altogether because they don't see it doing anything useful in their lives, and they're not wrong about that, but we can't all be apathetic. We have to start the Revolution some time, so why not this year and with this election? Vote "outside the box" and drive the status quo freakin' insane is a great first step, IMO.
Team D have cynically figured out that, if they make the Green Party sue to release concerning FEC funds, the worst that can happen is an emergency order to release, which will be appealed. Aka, the status quo.
Yeah, the dirty dem tricksters know how to slow everything up, make their opponents spend lots of money defending themselves against made up charges, and make up nasty smears to sling mud. How they can continue to live with themselves being such first-rate lying a**holes is a mystery to me, but I guess the billions in dark money in their Super PACs help.

It’s disgusting what’s going on.
But it’s a long time that the “Dems” have been working against democracy quite openly. In both actions such as their rigging primary elections ( that’s what the fake “Russiagate” was about) but also even their blatant refusal to defend the voting rights of minorities in America from the GOP’s infamous Crosscheck program which began over a decade ago.
Agreed. I like Jill Stein's new name for them: "the anti-democratic party". They're out to make as much money from their Super PAC donors as possible at the expense of the working people. I just read that the "dem elites" are already conceding the election to Trump. I guess their stock portfolios are safe and they're looking forward to a stock market surge once Trump takes office again. Talk about being "for the people"! Ugh.

I'm sort of partial to kakistocracy. It just sounds important. We're run by the worse of all of us.
Thanks for the link!
It sounds more like Russian Maryoshka Dolls, less like Easter eggs. An Easter reference might upset the AIPAC lobby LOL

AmeriKKKa has been an oligarchy since 1984
At the very least. I'm starting to think it's been one since 1776. It's always been about doing favors for rich white land-owning men.

Another good book for the TBR pile. Thanks!

They need to be voted out of office for good.
