Thanks. Great piece. Sharp imagery too. I love the “don’t believe in global warming” pic.

Whether wind/solar are the solutions i’m less sure of these days, but it’s not really the point. Once we start investing and looking into the solutions in earnest, then of course we’ll be able to collectively figure it out. At the minute most of these things are being offered as palliatives...

you know what else is pretty mad in this - the map. Look at resource rich Brazil, Russia and certain parts of the middle east (you know, the countries were the cops drive supercars etc. and cut bits off for farting in the wrong direction) - some billionaires. Look at the whole resource rich continent of Africa. A smattering....

And all this psychological pressure on huge swathes of people who already have too much to worry about.

It’d be interesting to see a similar study on corporations. I wonder what the effect of Blackrock’s $10 trillion portfolio is.....???

Thanks for your kind words. Yeah, I wonder about the effect of BlackRock's portfolio, too. These "mega-corporations" are more or less "countries" in and of themselves in the amount of carbon emissions they release and their actual worth. I think it's no mistake on the map that the billionaires mostly live in Western nations like the US, EU countries, Australia, etc., yet all the real reserves of natural resources are located in the southern hemisphere. That's why African countries and others are running to join BRICS (see last week's blog on that topic). The Western billionaires (heck, all the billionaires, really) have abused these "developing countries" and plundered their resources for long enough. It's high time they organized together and fought back, IMO. It's the only way they'll be able to deal with the climate crisis, and perhaps, they will lead the way and show the Western nations the best tactics, keeping the people's safety and well-being in mind above the billionaires' senseless accumulation of wealth and profits.
