Good points. In that sense, we do need to be more introspective and truly think about how we feel towards all the death and destruction taking place in the world, in order to feel more empowered and to speak out against these incidents.
We also need to think rationally and critically on what our leaders and mainstream media are telling, in order to come to a more objective, fairer understanding of what's really going on.
This will help us make more informed, accurate decisions in speaking out against the injustices taking place.
Great points, Raveen. "The inner and outer man should become one," said Socrates or one of those Greek philosophers. If we can't see with our conscience/soul that genocide is "wrong" then our outward actions will not stop the mass murdering taking place in Gaza and elsewhere. May our New Year resolution be that all of humanity become in touch with what makes us all truly human--our consciences.
Thank YOU for the great cartoon, Mark. I'm going to figure out how to link better from your cartoons back to your Substack eventually... That's my New Year's resolution. May your cartoons be seen far and wide (and their messages heeded) in 2024!
I'm glad they are getting out and appreciate your efforts.
God, with the censorship rolling out, our only hope for uncensored truth and debate are in spaces like this. I have another post and cartoon touching on the censorship piece coming out in a few minutes.
Horrific when written out and the most horrific thing is that it does not even touch the tip of the proverbial iceberg of what is going on globally.
"There was no need for so much loss of life and destruction to have been leveled on that part of the planet. The two sides could have worked things out at the negotiation table." - never was a truer word said. Jeremy Corbyn - UK politician - has been anti-war all his life. He said this right at the beginning of the war. He was ripped apart by the press and the public for being "pro Russian" (though it was the government of the day putting KGB-relatives into the House of Lords with the permission of Putin and taking copious amounts of Russian money...then giving Putin-backed businessman 30 days notice before 'instantly' closing their bank accounts as part of 'sanctions'). But he said it well - all wars end with the negotiating table, so why not skip the war part and just talk? Same sentiment as yourself: great minds, eh :)?
Thanks for your kinds words, Aya. Being linked in the same sentence with Jeremy Corbyn is a great honor. He would make a great Prime Minister, IMO. May 2024 hold some good surprises and Corbyn gets his chance again.

Free Palestine. Free Assange.

thank you for this.
You are most welcome. Have a great New Year!
Here's to a peaceful 2024! Here's to locking up the war criminals Biden, Netanyahu and Zelensky, among others! And let's free Julian Assange!
Sounds like a good plan to me! Happy New Year to one and all!
