Unfortunately I don't think Elbit Systems has left the UK. They did lose a UK government contract but no doubt Starmer & Co will find some way of making that up to them... 🤮

We are living in a real life horror movie. And I hate to imagine how it will end!

The Revolution Continues's avatar

Really, I don't want to know the movie's ending unless we can switch the genre over to a happy rom-com musical or something more positive (or at least neutral).

Diane Engelhardt's avatar

Wouldn't that be loverly!

Yes! I believe there's a strike coming up this week, January 23. Is that only in Minnesota or is it nationwide?

Ben's avatar

I believe MN only. All US needs more participants before commencement

It's high time for cowardly Americans to get off their asses and into the streets. The ICE activists are showing us how it's done. Follow their example, true patriots!

The Revolution Continues's avatar

The ICE activists really are true patriots. They are demonstrating to protect our First Amendment rights to free speech and assembly. ICE agents act in unconstitutional ways and they should be exposed, doxxed, followed, videoed and prosecuted.

Well written as always, CA. And you're right, revolution doesn't require permission from the oppressors, because if it did, it would stagnate and never occur because said group would never provide it. The rightness of the cause is the biggest positive, and concerted, organized determined effort will help it succeed. Now, more than ever, is the time to enact meaningful change both in the country and globally, because just sitting back and letting the status quo continue only exacerbates the wealth and influence inequality, disenfranchisement and support of atrocities both at home and abroad.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

Thanks for your kind words. You are so right--we can't let the status quo continue. Things will only get worse for the vast majority of humankind if we do. It's time to take a stand and fight for our rights.

We have to use all the tools in the toolbox to get to a better place. Some of those tools are loud and visible, and some are invisible.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

It's the invisible ones that are probably the most potent, too.

Aamir Razak's avatar

Agreed Ms. Van Eyk, both subtle and direct tools are needed to make things better for all. Many different means can be used to help make things more equitable and just

To be fair Trumpolini's head DOES look like ten pounds of condemned meat someone's tried to improve with a sriracha marinade. As to what goes on inside that head - if anything - nobody can deny the man's acting like an over-hormonal teen thug roughing up smaller kids for their lunch money.

A very visual description! You must be a fiction writer. I can always tell the good ones by their excellent skills at description. ;-)

If only it was fiction... :(

A J is very handsome, and I know this for a fact. But if you're implying that he is a different "color" than you and that somehow people who aren't white-European in ancestry like you are "inferior" to you, then you should probably leave now, Lynn. No one likes a racist/islamophobe. (And you really should read more of this blog to understand why no one likes racists or fascists. You have a lot of growing up emotionally to do. Bye now.)

Oddly enough I've more in common with folks on the streets of Tehran, Moscow and Beijing than I do with those a$$holes in DC. Don't make the mistake of thinking YOUR enemies are MINE, deary.

Apparently you don't know what you're talking about. Read last week's post: This is Your Country On Fascism. That'll explain things for you.

And who appointed those "rogue judges"? Go ahead and read last week's blog and you'll find out. I think it will help put things into perspective for you. Learning new things is always good, too. https://therevolutioncontinues.substack.com/p/this-is-your-country-on-fascismany

Um.. he really does look orange faced.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

He does! A friend told me that the kind of "instant tan" skin color preparation that Trump uses can cause skin cancer over time.

I am positive he is a Fascist.

if you look at the characteristics of Fascism - the Trump regime ticks all the boxes.

That being said, many have noted that the experience of living under fascism is very different depending on your social class. Many may not experience any difference to capitalistic democracy, many may suffer daily if they are in a targeted social class.
