If the Establishment is good at nothing else, it is very good at determining whom to buy off, whom to co-opt, whom to neutralize, whom to ignore.

Unfortunately, that's true. What does that say about a person that the Establishment is happy to help "sell out"? I definitely wouldn't trust them to water my plants or feed my pet when I went out of town for a weekend.

It really is an upside down world when you have presidential candidates openly supporting a genocide and happy to risk a nuclear confrontation with Russia, China, etc. in order to look "patriotic" and good, moral candidates slandered for caring about peace and prosperity for the working class. Did we collectively fall down Alice's rabbit hole? Thanks to the protesters and revolutionary thinkers fighting this immoral upside down system!

Maybe we should all play a game of "musical chairs" with the Mad Hatter for the ability to drop a nuke on our neighbors? It's totally upside-down and insane. Keep fighting protesters and outspoken individuals who continue to point out the immorality in the corrupt system! We got your backs.

In a sold-out political system the vast majority of officeholders are sell-outs and sycophants to the true holders of power -- the corporations and the wealthy.

Initially, I wasn't planning to vote on any races above community and county level but have been impressed with Jill Stein's courage and forthrightness in calling out the evil of our corrupt system. However, I wish the Green Party could pull things together. Several days ago I went to the Wisconsin Green Party website to check out what they were up to and how I might volunteer.

It was a poorly designed page that was difficult to read. But I plowed on. Under the "Events" page there was nothing. I continued exploring the site and began noticing that the few reader comments on the site were three to TEN years old. The comments usually expressed strong support and encouragement of the GP and inquired how they might volunteer.

Knowing full well what would happen, I used the 'Contact' tab and sent a note of support and offered to volunteer. As expected, there has been no response.

Yet more affirmation that the needed change cannot come from the dead n' done American political process. We aren't gonna vote our way of this cess pool.

Chris Hedges released a video yesterday on resistance and drawing from various successful reform and revolutionary movements he lays out things that have worked. As usual, he provides lots of practical guidance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpt28mQQRIw

In the presentation he quotes from Vincet Bevins' new book "If We Burn: The Mass Protest Decade and the Missing Revolution", which assess what went askew with recent movements like Black Lives Matter and Occupy. I have yet to read it, but have seen several interviews with him and I think he is pointing out obvious steps reformers need to look at. Here's a write up: https://www.amazon.com/If-We-Burn-Protest-Revolution/dp/1541788974/ref=sr_1_1?crid=EC9JN4QZ1YUF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.QJG8hQWbReBJFpveqZvzM4aKPAS9gh5wIMOai-YEI3w.22lwYzBasHWh8Z70yrKrFlpjEF0mPal8NKjWUfZWifQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=vincent+bevins+if+we+burn&qid=1726549818&sprefix=vincent+bevi%2Caps%2C129&sr=8-1

Thanks for the book recommendation. Jill appreciates your vote--I think Wisconsin is going to be a pivotal state this election and all the Green votes will make quite a statement.

I'm sorry you've discovered the downside of a "people-powered party" with zero funds for web sites and paid staff. If it's any consolation, you're not being picked on. In fact, the Wisconsin Greens' internet presence could have been a victim of one of the many (and there are MANY) Dem tricksters cyber-attacked web sites. They get through "back doors" into sites and then wipe out all the newer information or mess up the contact forms, etc. When Jill made the announcement about how the DNC was actively hiring saboteurs and spies, she wasn't kidding. It's a real and ongoing problem. That's why most of us communicate via Slack and give out Twitter/X accounts for people to contact state and local parties. Maybe you can contact the Greens via the state X page or Instagram and leave them a message? https://x.com/WIGreens is the one I'm following.

Here's an example of the constant cyber-attacks Greens can expect that a friend of mine who ran for a high office in Ohio a few years ago experienced: He had a Wikipedia page with information about his campaign and his personal history (he is known for other things), but when he became the Green candidate, all of a sudden his Wikipedia page was completely changed! He didn't do it--his campaign helpers didn't do it, but now it was completely wrong. There were all sorts of lies and smears there instead of the correct information about him and his campaign, etc. They even changed his birth date!! When he tried to get Wikipedia to let him into his own page there so it could be corrected, Wikipedia wouldn't let him to do it! They said that he was the cyber-terrorist! He sent in his birth certificate, driver's license, etc. along with lots of documentation saying that he was who he was and Wikipedia wouldn't budge. They wouldn't even let him correct his birth date! Well, you probably can guess who was behind this cyber-attack. Their Wikipedia pages and other web pages were never messed with or forced to shut down. Greens play fair. And Greens are poor since we don't take PAC money.

It's not fun to run a clean campaign with criminals, but we can't compromise our morals. We'd be replacing the corrupt duopoly with yet another corrupt party. We need the help of smart people like YOU to help us fight back against the DNC without becoming addicted to corporate cash.

WHOA! I had heard Jill's comments about the infiltration and sabotage but did not know how extensive it was. I don't know that that is what has happened to the WI GP site ... it just looks like it's been abandoned. After truly ugly experiences with Facebook, I don't do any social media, I just can't let that idiocy into my world.

Was there ever a news story done on what happened to that candidate. I'd be interested in posting it with some commentary and maybe a cartoon.

If you think they might be interested, you can let GP know about the political cartoons and illustrations I do for my Substack space and they are free to use any of it if they wish. I also have more older work archived on the website: www.DeMOCKracy.ink That's one of the things I was contacting the WI GP about.

I will pass your site link along. Thanks! The graphic/meme teams might be able to make good use of them. I understand about staying away from social media. I'm mostly on Twitter/X now to help with the campaign. Facebook has shadow-banned me and I find it frustrating, so I tend to avoid it. (If I could only get my relatives to stop using it EXCLUSIVELY for communications. They won't call or text or email me.)

Okay.

I have a cartoon tomorrow on Kamala's latest interview that might of use in contrasting her mumbo-jumbo with Jill's clear, bold campaign statements.

Communication has become so complicated. Such irony that in a time of more means of communication than ever, in many ways there is less communication. I did some reading a few months ago that one of the major objectives of tech platforms is to bundle like-minded people together on various platforms or sub-platforms so they are essentially talking to themselves. It is clear to me that is happening with Substack. I get very few comments challenging things I write.

This year's trending Halloween costume: Wear a Kamala Harris mask while carrying a bloody, decapitated Palestinian baby doll. It's pure evil and much scarier than dressing as a devil/demon.

Hard agree on AOC. She may well have started out as a "progressive" but I doubt she's ever had the personal integrity needed to be an actual leftist.

Hard DISagree on Harris. She's no sellout. She's a product and a logical conclusion of the democrat political machine--complete with all the nepotism, corruption, and inside baseball needed to succeed therein. Having zero core values, principles, or morality (at least as seen in her public life), Harris has nothing TO sell out.

I understand and partially agree with your point. I still see Harris as an ultimate sell-out. She's a complete sell-out of the human race. She looks human but she's without empathy, without conscience, and is motivated by pure naked ambition without the thought of how her actions could affect billions. It's a whole other level of sell-out-ness, you could say. But definitely she's the logical conclusion of the DNC machine. "Evil R Us" should be their motto.

Sigh. You wonder what she was like as a little girl. Was she ever kind to strangers? Ever not out to screw over everyone else to get ahead? Maybe she's been "broke" since day one. Sad.

This is actually an interesting question, and I don't think that there is a clear answer here. (Although I am sure that Harris is very kind to strangers - as long as there is some advantage to be gained from it.)

I look at English public schools or medeival mirrors for princes and I think to myself that this sounds like a way to train sociopaths. But then, look at Henry VI.
