Your poem reminds me of Dr. Al Zoynas

Thank you so much, already translated and will be on Sunday with my weekly Assange publication. Just want to know for the French orthograph, if you are "she" or "he" ...

I'm a "she" but I've been called just about every pronoun so I'm not too picky. ;-)

No, at the poetry read I was behind the camera. That was a very talented young lady who gave a very passionate poetry read. I'm in the top photo holding the "Free Free Palestine" sign on this blog: https://therevolutioncontinues.substack.com/p/the-elephant-in-the-room

Thank you so much for the enlightening post today. I wonder why Julian Assange did not protect himself better.

Why do we give Israel so much, when back in the states the co-pays for seeing a doctor are so high many f folks go without the treatment they need?

If we don't get our acr together soon we will be in the mists of WW3.

Do we deserve better? As long as we allow our government to support Israel, I'd say ,no.

Karma is ,unfortunately real. And what we sow in Palestine, we shall reap.

You're welcome, Darkstar. I think the question is, "Could Assange have protected himself at all against a corrupt state (the US) that doesn't hesitate to use its allies (the UK) to imprison whomever they want?" One person facing a corrupt state with a huge military and intelligence network is definitely a tough situation to protect oneself from. But should a publisher of journalism ever have been put in this situation at all? What's "criminal" about journalism? That's the real question the US government hasn't answered satisfactorily.

Why do we give Israel so much money and arms? I wish I knew! But I do believe it's got a lot to do with the military-Congressional-industrial complex. There's a lot of money to make in selling arms to Israel and in eternal wars/conflicts/genocide. Congress is bribed by arms manufacturers and Big Pharma/Big Health Insurance lobbyists alike. So, we have armed conflicts and expensive medical care--and Congress and all of our elected officials become very rich off it all. Who really cares about ordinary working Americans? They don't!

We The People deserve better--but our government certainly doesn't. But we all will reap the evil they have sown in our names.

A beautiful text that should inspire all of us, merci. Attached is a link to a French translation to feed my daily "press review" page on Assange, Palestine, the urgent need to wake up before those who govern us, lie to us and pressure us reduce us to rubble. #Palestine #Assange #FreeSpeech #JournalismIsNotACrime

Thanks, Spirit's FreeSpeech. It's interesting to see my poem translated into French. Maybe it reads better that way? LOL! You are so right to say #JournalismIsNotACrime and those who share news with others should never be censored. #FreeAssange!

However, I haven't added the links at the end of the article - I'll probably do so gradually, as the vast majority of readers don't speak English. I'll try to add them progressively - after I get back from London next week, where I'll be supporting Assange in front of the "Royal" court... #FreeAssangeNOW

I'll also link you to a French fb group in support of Assange if you're interested (with mostly translated articles but with the original link in English).

Thank you for traveling to London to be there in support of Julian. The more, the better!

Thanks for the FB group link. I can't read French--just English (most of the time!) and a little a Spanish. I find it fascinating that other Substack members are fluent in so many languages and able to share posts with others. It's one way of bringing the world together on these important matters such as freedom of speech and ending genocide. I thank you for your translation work.

I don't feel like writing yet (even though it's almost a passion) lack of confidence no doubt, but this page exists thanks to you - and others, to spread a little decency, justice, humanity and light to the widest possible audience in this truly nauseating swamp... Onward and upward, as Assange's father John Shipton would say. ;) Let’s fight ✨

Perhaps the upside of this horrible time will be most people will come to appreciate the vital job that the press does in keeping any form of democracy alive. Everyone's viewpoint matters!

Yes! We can't have a democracy without hearing everyone's take on the issues. And a "democracy" doesn't use propaganda to shove the acceptance of genocide down everyone's throat, either.

Thanks for writing about this and well said points.

Free, independent press truly is essential to society.

Thank you! The people have the right to know what is going on in the world. It's a fundamental human right to be able to express yourself and to be able to read other points of view. Let's keep reminding our governments that censorship will not be tolerated.

Really powerful how you managed to express your feelings and become more clear-minded again. I recognise that process, and in it I always find new strength to carry on. Not expressing how something affects you can indeed take your breath away. Stay true to how you feel and don't forget we're all together in this!

Thanks for your kind words, Robert. It is easy to forget that we're not alone at a time like this. Many, many people are voicing their outrage over what is happening in Gaza and elsewhere. We do need to lift each other up so the stress of dealing with such evil doesn't wear us down. #PowerToThePeople !
