The nasty implications leveled at independent journalist Matt Taibbi reveal just how terrified the establishment is that We the People might actually read a Tweet or Substack post and realize how corrupt the US government truly is and how far they will go to censor this truth.
I hope Assange hasn't been actually executed yet! (He's being treated to the long, slow, agonizing execution of a prison stay at Belmarsh.) But I take your point. Nothing new really, but it's really beginning to be seen more and more in the mainstream media as these so-called journalists attack the reputations of other independent (true) journalists like Taibbi, Hersh, Mate, Greenwald, Norton, etc.
As Assange said nearly 14 years ago, "first they came for me"... Press is supposed to represent the fourth power, true journalits are a real threat for the power, exposing truth to the public . WikiLeaks was the digital revolution for journalism, protecting whistleblowers. That's why the US want to advertise every journalist across Assange persecution. We do need to win this before it's too late...
