An exceptional essay! The real non-persons are the fake persons ones like our venerable leaders and celebrated billionaires who look like people, dress like people, talk and walk and act like people but have mechanical pumps for hearts, shit for brains, ice water in their veins, severely limited consciousness, no soul, no conscience, no imagination, no spiritual awareness, no reverence for life. They are black holes in human form!

Thanks for your kind words! Yeah, you've pegged the true non-persons perfectly. They are "Black Holes in Human Form." Wonder if we could make an acronym from that and use it whenever we don't wish to mention their hated names. "He's a real BHIHF, that a-hole president of the US is..."

BHIHF almost sounds like "beef", only I'd pronounce it "be-heef". And I'd use the names: Trump is a BHIHF! Netanyahu is a BHIHF! Hegseth is a BHIHF! Musk, Bezos, Altman, Karp, Thiel are BHIHFs! The world is run by a bunch of BHIHFs! (Sounds kinda like you have the hiccups!)

White westerners in particular think they are immune to being labeled a nonperson and genocided, but this isn't the case. Look back into history and see how the Irish were treated by the British empire. Nowadays we'd call the Irish "white" but that's not how they were seen then. Fast forward and we see how Irish Americans have become every bit as biased as their former tormentors towards nonpersons. It's folks like Musk who are perpetuating this myth of white superiority and trying to make AI more human than actual humans of color and lesser economic power. We can't allow this to continue or else we'll be no more faster than it takes an AI to create slop. ✊

The AI element is making our possible demise more likely... The Musks of the world want to use their AI powered drones and robots to rid them of "excess eaters" as they say. We need to stop this dehumanization and Malthusian mindset of the billionaires before it's too late. It's time for REVOLUTION not reforming the corrupt system.

The Ro Khanna post interview was alarming even after he was visibly shaken after being harassed in Palestine - which now turns out to be just a PR stunt on his part.

It is just this kind of behavior by so-called progressives that makes one view any possible change within the current political system - that has been hi-jacked by billionaires and new legal definitions of "personhood" such as Citizen's United - makes one view any change of the democratic party - even when Progressives are voted in like AOC or Ro Khanna - as beyond hope. Or the best one can hope for is bread crumbs, and a continued descent into non-personhood for the working serfs under the oppressive boot of the American billionaire class.

Was it all just a PR stunt on Khanna’s part? I can’t put it past any member of the duopoly… They live for publicity and more AIPAC/MIC dollars in their war chests. The so-called “progressives” in the DNC are anything but, and they’re doing us all a favor by making it more than obvious that the current political system is totally corrupt and needs to be destroyed, not “reformed” (whatever they mean by that). Power to the people—not the profiteers of the duopoly!

Great points as always CA. The systematic dehumanization and lack of empathy in the ongoing genocidal carnage are horrific, and seem to be replicated at home when some talk about people of color/minorities. I think Franz Fanon talks about a similar process during the French colonization of Africa in books like "Black Skin, White Masks" and "The Wretched of the Earth".

Not to mention, the indigenous people of the country experienced brutality and slaughter under this same antagonism. Sadly it seems that in the world, empathy seems to be dwindling and in decline, as the powers that be carve up the world and its resources to enrich their own wealth, enhance their influence and "get theirs", while the world pays the price

Well said, Aamir. It does feel like the unempathetic billionaires are slicing up the world into their own slices of “pie” to enjoy at the cost of all our land, air and water, not even seeing the rest of us as fellow human beings. Franz Fanon documented the process well in Algeria. Once we become mere objects—not even living beings—we are so much easier to dismiss, ignore, and mass murder.

It’s telling how Western law gives personhood to corporations as well as “natural persons”. How easy it is to take away rights from flesh and blood persons and how not so easy it is to take them away from corporations. It’s time we outlawed corporations and the billionaires who created them, IMO.

Well said CA, agreed. The oligarchs already have mind-boggling amounts of wealth and influence, and in their seemingly insatiable greed, they want even more at the expense of the planet and everyone else.

I feel that they think they live an alternate reality where things like environmental degradation, climate change and wealth inequality don't exist. Yes, Mr. Fanon made such a great point about it that rings true decades later. Once others dismiss our agency as human beings or even beings worthy of empathy and compassion, they commit heinous injustices and cause oppression because they have rationalized it as acceptable behavior against "less than humans".

Excellent point about personhood to corporations as well, their influence and ability to shift perception is significant, and it is truly sad how people are disenfranchised at the behest of said corporations. Their greed for profits and return on investment, at the expense of moral principles and human dignity, is appalling to say the least. Such an outlaw sounds like the right course of action, in my view.

People are being dehumanized, and we are sinking into a state of barbarity.

The Revolution Continues's avatar

I’m afraid so. We need to turn this situation around ASAP. We need to see each other as human, flawed and not always on the right side of history, but still human. We need to eliminate this concept that somehow corporations have personhood, but flesh and blood human beings that the powers-to-be don’t want around don’t.

I agree.
