Chris Hedges in a recent interview on George Galloway's MOATS revealed that most of the women he interviewed for one of his books (I believe "America the Farewell Tour", which I've read) suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a partner. As a real journalist, Hedges felt he couldn't report on most of them as anecdotal, but he was clearly of the mind that this was the norm rather than the exception in American culture. It might look like a bigger deal coming from elites because of their resources and notoriety, but goddamit, it's a foundational monstrosity of this shithole society. Men feel free -- if not entitled -- to beat on their spouses and partners.

Great quotes from Frederick Douglass! Time to break the chains of ignorance, exceptionalism, capitalism, militarism, and patriarchy!
