Black History Month is a good time to reflect on how the US became the complete and utter shithole it is today by honoring those who fought hard to rise above its racist-fascist shittiness.

For being the shortest month of the year, February certainly packs a lot of punches.

Most of them are gut punches, too. I received some great news this week from a friend who has been given a second chance to prove himself, but that good news was almost instantly nullified by some heartbreaking news from another friend that made the tears flow freely. Life is a series of ups and downs. No doubt about it.

The news cycle—the real news cycle, not the pretend mainstream media one—hasn’t been all that joyful, either. What to write about this week? Hmm…

The US is still funding a horrific genocide in Palestine and helping Israel to steal all the land in both Gaza and the West Bank. The US is openly starving Cuba into submission for God-knows-what reason. Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife are still prisoners, and the US government is giving their oil to Israel, of course. The Department of Homeland Security and ICE are purchasing hundreds of empty warehouses to imprison immigrants and perhaps citizens as well. And the latest Epstein files dump tells us that our “ruling class” is into cannibalism besides child rape, torture, and murder. So many wonderful topics to choose from!

I decided finally to ignore the gut punches and think about better things happening in February, such as Black History Month. It’s a good time of the year to sit back and reflect on how the United States became the complete and utter shithole it is today by honoring those who fought hard to rise above its racist-fascist shittiness.

The inspiration came from the meme at the top. It popped up on my UpScrolled feed. (Join today—UpScrolled doesn’t shadow-ban.) Frederick Douglass definitely knew what he was talking about. Once you know something—you really know all there is to know about it—you can’t let go of that knowledge. It changes you. It becomes a part of you, for better or worse.

For example, once you come to the realization of how US capitalism works you will become “unfit to be a slave” of it. You become unfit to become a slave to any system which approves of billionaires sex trafficking children as they fund a genocide, arrest and deport thousands of innocents, kidnap another country’s leader, and start wars to steal others’ natural resources while simultaneously denying health care, food and shelter to millions of its own people.

I know I’m terribly unfit to operate in this heinous system. How about you?

Once true intellectual freedom is obtained there is no going back. You’re stuck suffering lots of sleepless nights wondering, How did I happen to be born into this hell? How can I help change this nightmare for the better? Trust me, these questions will haunt you forever. Well, they’ll haunt us until there are enough of us are spending our sleepless nights planning what actions to take next in order to end this nightmare on Earth.

Back to Black History Month: Frederick Douglass didn’t live an easy life—he was born a slave and was separated from his mother at a very early age. But he rose above that nightmare, learned to read and write, then used his brains and wits to inspire the abolitionist movement that eventually tore down a part of the US capitalist system that had enslaved so many.

After reading about Douglass’ life, Americans should quit complaining that we have it worse than everyone else on this planet. It’s not like we’re in the same position that working class Argentinians find themselves in this week. I mean, who really wants to work twelve hours days without a raise in pay while being forced to depend upon your boss for your food and shelter? (That sounds an awful lot like slavery, doesn’t it?)

“Oh, but America is so much better than Argentina!” wealthy neoliberals will cry, all the while supporting political candidates who say they’re okay with Israel committing a genocide of the Palestinian people.

You know what’s coming next, I suspect. Neolibs are even now saying, “Jeffrey Epstein and his friends were just blips on the radar—these files are no big deal. Americans aren’t like that. We’ve never been like that.”

Remember, this is Black History Month. It’s time to gain some knowledge and reflect on the reality of our existence. Face it—Americans are exactly like that. Our white capitalists forefathers in the South wouldn’t give up their millions of unpaid workers whom they routinely sex trafficked, raped, and tortured—not until the federal Army was sent in to burn down Atlanta and more than a few plantations.

And before you make claim that Epstein and his buddies are an aberration, let me break the bad news to you: Many famous Americans were also pedophiles. Remember the story of President Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings? I read recently that Sally was only 14 years old when 46 years old Jefferson first slept with her. She was a child. That’s statutory rape. (Incidentally, Sally’s father was Jefferson’s father-in-law who had owned her mother, Elizabeth, making Sally the half-sister of Jefferson’s late wife Martha. Ew!)

The next thing I’ll hear from some of you is that two hundred years ago a 14-year-old girl could be married, but remember: Sally was a black enslaved person. Sally was never offered a choice in the matter. Jefferson owned her and could use her as he pleased. Jefferson never married Sally, and her six children by Jefferson were all considered his slaves until they died or came of age. Talk about child abuse!

Knowledge is powerful, isn’t it?

Before I forget, I want to tell you about a great American history article I came across this week. The Nazis (yes, the original German ones) actually studied and learned from American history about how to effectively commit a genocide. It makes sense why so many American politicians openly support the genocide in Palestine, now doesn’t it? Genocide is a quintessential American activity.

Some of you will get your panties all in a bunch because you have no idea what I’m referring to because knowledge hasn’t freed your mind to think for yourself yet. But ask yourself: Did you ever wonder why the state of Indiana is called what it’s called? Indiana means “Land of the Indians,” and, oddly enough, to this day no tribes have ever had a reservation there.

It’s past time to learn about the reality of the young US government’s relentlessly violent drive to rid the Northwest Territory (the land that would eventually become the states of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and parts of Minnesota) of all non-whites. The inferior indigenous people of North America had to go so that white settlers could colonize their lands. The tribes were eliminated in a non-peaceful manner. They weren’t allowed to come back. Ever.

Understand now what the Nazis learned from the Americans’ genocidal example of dealing with their inferiors? Understand now what the apartheid regime of Israel is doing to the Palestinian people?

Understand now that saying things like, “Jeffrey Epstein wasn’t really American and what he did to children wasn’t something Americans would ever approved of” is a lie? Of course the US government approved of Epstein. Tell me how many people listed in the Epstein files have been charged and arrested by the FBI so far? Ten? Twenty? How about zero.

Black history demonstrates that the US reigns supreme as the home of racist assholes who think eugenics is the way to go. Jeffrey Epstein isn’t the only American who has claimed that whites are superior to all other racial groups. Elon Musk is also a proponent of an all-white world—which is probably why he wants to go to Mars and set up its society himself. No indigenous Martians allowed.

I come across articles constantly whose authors pontificate on how “overpopulation” is taking resources away from the much superior billionaire class and so the poor (mostly those of color) must be eliminated. These authors act as if human beings with less wealth than they are insects to be squashed and disposed of at will.

It’s funny how those who advocate for fewer poor people on the planet are often against abortion on demand. But when you realize that in the Epstein files there are mentions of how Jeffrey and his friends had this thing for raping babies and then killing them… Suddenly their eugenics/transhumanism/Malthusian take on life makes sense in a very dangerous and very demonic way.

To sum up, February is Black History Month, and the history of the US (and the Western world, on the whole) is being repeated in the present day with only the names and places changed. For those who seek out knowledge, they will find that it has made them unfit to be slaves of this sick system. Knowledge has helped them to become their own persons. Freed of the propaganda, they are now free to fight against the immoral sadists currently in power.

Our essential task as intellectually freed persons is to keep sharing knowledge and encouraging others to rise up against the corrupt and evil capitalist system. We have no choice, no other options, unless we wish to become enslaved to it.

Support whoever resists in whatever small ways you can.
Talk to one person who is still half-asleep.
If you do that, you’re already doing more than the millions who "don’t care."
Feeling this horror is not a weakness, my friend.
It means your soul hasn’t signed the contract.
