Which of the following scenarios do you think is fiction?

Scenario 1: A man walks into his boss’s office and confesses that he’s been embezzling from the company for over a decade. He also confesses to having an affair with the boss’s wife and that they’re planning on running away together soon with the ill-gotten gains.

The boss replies to the man, “That’s all right, Charlie. I realize now how I underpaid you, and you needed that extra money. And I’m glad you helped put a smile on my wife’s face. She’s been unhappy for far too long. Have a great trip!”

Scenario 2: The US Secretary of State knowingly lies to Congress about Israel blocking food and medicine from reaching famine victims in Gaza in direct violation of a law that says the US cannot continue to provide arms to any country that blocks US humanitarian aid.

Blinken told Congress, “We do not currently assess that the Israeli government is prohibiting or otherwise restricting” aid, even though the U.S. Agency for International Development and others had determined that Israel had broken the law. --Brett Murphy, Israel Deliberately Blocked Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, Two Government Bodies Concluded. So, think hard… which scenario is fiction and which one is fact? Which scenario seems more likely? Having a friendly boss who understands why you did what you did in order to be happy, or watching a highly-placed government official lie to Congress about US aid getting into Gaza in order for the Biden administration to continue peddling 2,000 pound bombs to the genocidal maniacs of Israel?

The second scenario has to be fiction, right? I mean, who would believe a US Secretary of State would misrepresent the facts of humanitarian aid not getting to famine victims to Congress? To deny food and medicine to all those innocents suffering in a zone that’s been reduced to rubble is…is… Well, it’s just plain evil. What sort of individual would lie like that?

Antony Blinken, that’s who. According to ProPublica:

The U.S. Agency for International Development delivered its assessment to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and the State Department’s refugees bureau made its stance known to top diplomats in late April. Their conclusion was explosive because U.S. law requires the government to cut off weapons shipments to countries that prevent the delivery of U.S.-backed humanitarian aid. Israel has been largely dependent on American bombs and other weapons in Gaza since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks.

There’s no excuse for Mr. Blinken’s actions. He knew exactly what he was doing when he lied to Congress and why he was doing it. The scenario might read like fiction, but it is, sadly, a fact. In the order of succession to the presidency in case both the president and vice president are dead or incapacitated, the Secretary of State comes after only the Speaker of the House and President Pro Tempore of the Senate in taking over the Executive branch. So, the fourth highest official after the president, Antony Blinken, lied openly to protect the flow of US armaments being sent to Israel so it could continue its ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

Has Blinken no fear of being arrested for breaking the law? Nope. He’s not in handcuffs currently, is he? There’s no hint that Congress is going to bring impeachment proceedings against Blinken anytime soon, either (although Veterans for Peace are asking for one). Why would Congress impeach him? Blinken wouldn’t be the first Secretary of State to bend the rules in order for the US to get away with mass murder. His predecessors Henry Kissinger and Hillary Clinton are two such examples.

Kissinger, the architect of the secret bombings of Cambodia that killed hundreds of thousands and set up the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime that killed a million+ more.

Clinton, famous for her cackling laugh and the sadistic “We came, we saw, he died!” comment about the US assassination of Qaddafi in Libya, plunging what had been a prospering country into a bloody civil war that it has never recovered from. There are open slave markets in Libya today that didn’t exist before the US murdered Qaddafi. Nice, huh?

What’s a mere 200,000+ Palestinians dead and injured (and 5,000+ Lebanese as well) compared to the millions those two previous Secretaries of State are responsible for murdering? Kissinger is still firmly in the lead for slaughtering the most innocents. I’m sure Clinton wishes she could have killed more, but she was only in office for the one term.

Does Blinken possess any fear for his mortal soul? Does he feel responsible for his callous lies that prevented US humanitarian aid from entering Gaza? Does he lose any sleep over the deaths of thousands—especially young children—who have died agonizing deaths due to malnutrition and disease? Apparently not. Is he concerned about the bad publicity he’s given the US by his actions? He hasn’t cut his wrists or done an “Epstein” in a jail cell yet, so he probably isn’t too concerned.

Blinken knows that he wasn’t the only one in the loop when it came to how he should obfuscate the facts that his own State Department experts told him about the dire situation in Gaza. What would Congress, a body of politicians notorious for their own modifications of the truth, know about spotting lies from a dishonest government official? Liars will readily cover for other liars while the world is on fire.

Blinken could very well have been instructed to lie to Congress in order to cover for Joe Biden. Why wouldn’t Blinken take the fall for his president? Biden has done nothing but lie about trying to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza for over eleven months. The headlines in the mainstream media have declared that Biden has been “worried” and “concerned” and “frustrated” about Netanyahu’s inability to stop his forces from slaughtering Palestinians, but Biden hasn’t done squat to bring about a ceasefire. He hasn’t been worried, concerned, or frustrated enough to actually pick up the phone and tell Netanyahu to stop the genocide.

Even Ronald Reagan called the Israelis and stopped their rampage when he thought they’d gone too far, but not Biden. (Quote below.) Blinken might have lied just to do Biden a favor and give the headline writers a break. The most worrisome thing in this debacle is that the American people have a chief executive who is incapable of using a telephone in order to have an important conversation that could save millions of lives while still being capable of sending billions of dollars worth of bombs to those same war criminals.

It’s We the People who should be worried, concerned, and frustrated. The genocide of Palestinians and the bombing of Lebanon civilians doesn’t look very good for us as a people. We’ve allowed liars into high office and allowed them to aid and abet Israel in ethnic cleansing and mass starvation. Those who commit such war crimes are punishable by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice. The US government should be cooperating fully with these international law bodies.

Violators of our own country’s laws against supplying arms to those who prevent humanitarian aid from getting to civilians should be prosecuted as well, which means charges brought against Blinken, Biden, Harris, and more than a few others. I haven’t seen anything in the news about Blinken being charged and held for perjuring himself before Congress yet. Members of the independent press has expressed outrage over this incident, as well they should, but the mainstream press is working double-time to cover over this story faster than Netanyahu can yell “Antisemitism!”

Let’s not kid ourselves. It’s tough seeking justice for non-white persons in the best of times and doubly so when the world is literally on fire. The status quo with the help of the mainstream media is doing its bit to cloud the issue, too, by scattering our focus around the globe—Ukraine, Congo, Sudan, Haiti, Lebanon, Gaza, West Bank, and wannabe hot spots like China and Iran. It’s hard to keep the concerned public focused on fighting just one injustice with so much bloodshed happening.

Perhaps that is the liars’ plan? Divide our compassion and conquer the peace movement once and for all?

“Poor Palestinians!” the neoliberals wail. “Poor, poor things! Those who have survived this year’s bombings have all starved or died of disease by now. Let’s not dwell on such unpleasantness any longer by protesting and calling attention to it. Let’s go to brunch instead.”

Yeah, sure. Sigh.

That’s probably the plan. Blinken lies to Congress and becomes a superstar US Secretary of State with hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of deaths on his tab in the manner of Kissinger and Clinton. The military-industrial complex continues to make trillions of dollars in profits supplying arms to all sides of every conflict imaginable. And last but certainly not least, AIPAC continues to bribe its select politician-puppets running for office in the US with impunity.

There’s nothing we can do about it, right? Everything is perfectly legal and beyond reproach… but so was chattel slavery in the US until the 1860s.

Like the abolitionists of the early 19^th century, Americans who possess a conscience and morals need to stand up and fight against the corrupt system that protects war criminals like Blinken, Biden, and Harris. One way the anti-slavery abolitionists overturned the corrupt system was by supporting a third party candidate for the presidency in 1860. His name was Abraham Lincoln, and he actually won probably because vote shaming was not a thing in that election.

The abolitionists knew deep down that slavery was immoral and gambled that other decent Americans would go along and support their candidate as well. And it worked.

The time has come to repeat just such an upset of power. American voters of good will need to stand together and support an anti-genocide candidate from a third party, the Green Party, by the name of Dr. Jill Stein.

Will it work? Anything is possible. If every American voted their conscience and didn’t get tricked into playing the “lesser evil” voting game (that only brings more evil into a world on fire), then Jill Stein and her running mate Butch Ware could win. Even if they don’t win, the message that a large number of Stein/Ware voters sends to the status quo is an important one. It lets those who are okay with lying in order to keep arming a genocidal regime know that We the People don’t agree. We will not continue to cooperate with their war crimes.

We the People don’t want forever wars fought in our names. We don’t want our children to become cannon fodder. We want to live in peace with everyone on the planet. We want liars and haters thrown into prison. We aren’t remaining complacent any longer.
