KISS: Keep It Simple, Sociopath
by C. A. Matthews
It’s been really hard keeping up with what’s been happening recently in Syria and the rest of the world. Then I remembered a wise old saying, and I sat down and started listing the facts, just the facts. Here they are as simple as I can explain them:
First off, the US and its Western allies once called the group now in charge of Syria “terrorists”, but now we’re calling them “moderates” and forgiving them for all the torture and extrajudicial killings that they did. Their leader, Muhammad Al-Jawlani, used to have a $10 million reward on his head for being a terrorist with an organization formerly known as Al Qaeda. (Never heard of them before, have you?) But now we’re supposed to ignore his past because he turned in his turban for a Western-styled suit…
Yeah, that’s it. It’s sort of like a woman becoming a virgin again after twenty years of marriage and several children.
Second thing, we’re told that this recent invasion of Syria is not a land grab. Pay no attention to the Israeli military (using American provided weapons) bombing Syria 480 times in 48 hours because (in their words) the “moderates are terrorists” and can’t control their own people to Israel’s satisfaction. (But Al-Jawlani wears a suit now—doesn’t that make everything all right?)
Meanwhile, at least some Israeli soldiers proudly wear a “Greater Israel” patch on their uniforms. This patch contains a map which includes the territories of Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan, and good chunks of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and a small part of Turkey.
How did the Israelis know one day they’d wind up occupying a good portion of that area within a year? Pretty bold going ahead and embroidering the patches beforehand. They must be psychics.
The fact is, oil and natural gas reserves were discovered off the coast of Gaza in 2019. The United Nations determined that these resources belong to the Palestinian people (not the Israeli government). So, the Israelis land grabbing all over the Levant obviously has nothing to do with oil and gas whatsoever because… They say so. (Read more about this in The Root of All Evils.)
Nobody really cares about the Palestinians’ oil and natural gas reserves, right? If you believe that, I have a tropical beach complete with palm trees along the frozen shoreline of Lake Erie to sell you.
Third, Western oil companies are all salivating over shutting down a Russian-built pipeline in the territory formerly known as Syria. They’re excited to build their very own pipeline and send the oil north to Europe where it is desperately wanted. Germany in particular has been struggling with higher oil prices.
All the lovely cheap oil Germans used to buy from Russia before 2022 has disappeared because the Russian-built Nordstream pipeline in the Baltic Sea “mysteriously blew itself up” a few years ago, forcing them to buy more expensive American oil imports. Investigations by several NATO-aligned nations into how the Nordstream blew up have all been inconclusive, of course.
Are you keeping up with all these non-related, purely coincidental details so far? I admit it’s difficult, but bear with me. I promise you a trip to that tropical Great Lake beach someday soon if you do.
Last and certainly not least, these supposedly non-related occurrences in West Asia are happening concurrently with an ongoing civil war conflict between Ukraine and a region known as the Donbas. Russia—the same country with the cheap oil and now several former pipelines—has been tied up militarily in that area, trying to aid the ethnic Russians of the Donbas from being totally wiped out.
These tensions between the Russian speakers and non-Russian speakers of Ukraine and the Donbas region began soon after the Maidan Coup of 2014. This coup, of course, had nothing to do with the CIA, then President Obama or his Vice President Joe Biden. It also had nothing whatsoever to do with Joe Biden’s son Hunter’s cushy “job” (doing essentially nothing) with the Ukrainian energy company, Bursima.
The violent actions Ukraine has taken against the ethnic Russian people of the Donbas, a region with its own wealth of natural resources that haven’t been fully exploited yet, are not to be considered a program of ethnic cleansing. The same goes for the estimated 250,000+ Palestinians (70% women and children) killed in Gaza and the West Bank (also Lebanon and Syria) by the Israeli Occupation Forces. These mass murders of civilians are not to be considered genocide in spite of fitting the exact UN definition of a genocide, because… because… Because the US and its Western allies say so.
And whatever the US says is true ‘cause Americans have never lied once in all their existence, right?
It’s easy to feel bewildered at the state of affairs the world finds itself in today. There are only two possible conclusions one can draw from these recent events: They either add up to one big US-led (CIA and Big Oil) conspiracy to take away control of oil and its infrastructure from Syria, Russia, and Palestine (Gaza), or these upsetting, violent actions are all just part of a series of unfortunate coincidences.
You’re ready for that beach vacation on the middle of a Great Lake ice flow now, aren’t you?
The simple rule I was taught to keep in mind whenever things get too messy or complicated is called the “KISS Method.” I’m sure you’ve heard of it. KISS stands for “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”
When in doubt, take away all the differences in politics, ethnicity, culture or religion from any conflict between human beings and stare hard at the cold facts that remain. Look for a common thread. In this case, the common thread is oil—the control of it, the distribution of it, the coveting of others’ oil and other natural resources and infrastructure such as pipelines.
All of these apparently unrelated events have involved the US and its Western allies (NATO and Israel) going after oil wherever it is and taking control of it. It’s just that simple.
“But what about the multitudes of dead Palestinians?” you wonder. “What about all the dead Ukrainians and Russians? What about all the dead Lebanese and Syrians? What about democracy and freedom the US is always talking about whenever it enters a conflict? Isn’t all this bloodshed and bombing about people?”
Let’s look at this at the state of the world at its most basic level. Using the KISS Method, you’ll note that the world is just a big globe with lots of nice stuff on top of it and some nice stuff underneath its surface. Ask yourself this question: If there were zero people living in Syria or Gaza or Lebanon or the Donbas, would the US and its allies still fight—or cause others to fight for them in a proxy war situation—to take all the oil and minerals out of the ground in those areas, to use these lands and resources for their own purposes?
The answer you’re looking for is, “Hell, yes! Who wouldn’t want to possess and control all that wealth? That’s what capitalism is all about, right?” To put it simply: “He who has the most toys, wins!”
The poor and indigenous people of the planet are just fruit flies swarming on a bowl of overripe tomatoes to the sociopaths who control the CIA, the organization that readily does the dirty work for the imperialists/capitalists. Unwanted folks in the way of “progress” are to be swatted—hard—if they don’t get out of the way fast enough.
An empire like the one the USA has built up since the Spanish-American War of 1898 wants ever more land and natural resources. It even wants to control more land and resources because they can’t afford the competition having more land or resources than they do. The natives of the region are just obstacles to get rid of or shut up as quickly as possible. (Just ask the natives on Maui their feelings on this topic.)
The KISS Method for imperialists/capitalists is slightly different than the one you or I would use. Their KISS acronym stands for “Keep It Simple, (because we are) Sociopaths (and we’re used to getting our way and taking what we want, whenever we want, however we want to take it).”
We’re seeing the capitalists’ version of the KISS Method in the US this week in the demonizing of rising folk hero Luigi Mangione.
Capitalists can’t have the working classes upset at their accumulation of obscene levels of wealth at the workers’ expense. It’s “acceptable” in capitalists’ opinion to deny Americans health care in order to make massive profits, even if denying health coverage leads to an average of 68,500 deaths annually. That’s about 188 Americans dying needlessly every day because some health insurance executive thinks their lives aren’t “worthy.”
Capitalists have to demonize anyone who dares try to fight back against this corrupt and immoral system or else they could lose those big profits. The mainstream media has been tasked with smearing the reputation of Luigi Mangione, and all others who would challenge corporate power. Workers must learn to idolize the rich and not admire anyone who would fight against the rich to help the oppressed.
Capitalists are so terrified that others will take actions similar to Mangione’s that they’re even terrorizing stressed out moms like Briana Boston of Florida. Ms. Boston, in a burst of frustration over a denied health claim, remarked to a call center operator that Luigi had the right idea. For exercising her right to free speech, she was charged with a felony and sent to jail.
That’s a symptom of how sociopathic the capitalists/imperialists in power are. They’ll take a mother away from her children during the holiday season simply for trying to obtain health care for her loved ones from a health insurance corporation she had already paid premiums to. Santa really should put these murderously greedy CEOS on his naughty list.
The people’s KISS Method helps put things into perspective and helps us to focus where our energies should be directed. Our energies shouldn’t be wasted arguing over what religion or nationality or ethnicity or political or gender persuasion a person is or was. Our energies should be focused upon saving the lives of as many of us ordinary, hard-working people around the world as possible.
By pointing out the sociopaths (such as Biden, the CIA, and health insurance CEOs) and exposing their greed and cruelty, we can see them as the enemies of the people they truly are. We can unite with our fellow workers and together take our enemies out of power. Forever.
We don’t have to use the same method as Luigi Mangione used, but if they insist then…? If anything, we need to take action before the billionaires install killer-robots such as the ones the Israelis are preparing to install in the West Bank.
The people’s KISS Method means never having anyone pull the wool over our eyes ever again. Keep it simple—and stay alert.

A natural gas pipeline project between Türkiye and Qatar could be resumed following Bashar al-Assad's fall, according to Turkish energy minister Alpraslan Bayraktar. The pipeline, which would pass through Syrian territory, was rejected by Assad back in 2009. The 1,500km long pipeline would transport gas from Qatar to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Türkiye and finally to Europe, which has been struggling to adequately replace Russian gas since the Ukraine war. --In Context on X (linktr.ee/incontextmedia)

You are amazing in how you research , write and document all these events, thank you. I commend you , as I am having to take a break, and put my heart back together ❤️🩹As I write that , I know many have no taking a break option, so I acknowledge that and also do it for love of them.
And here I thought none of these events are related, and that the US is all about "freedom and democracy". How well they've blinded the public into accepting their sicko narrative! It's time to change it to one where the ordinary hard working people are in charge.
