I haven’t celebrated ‘Bloody transfer of power between two gangs of rich white men’ Day for years.

I haven't celebrated "Independence Day" in years, but I'm more than game to celebrate Bastille Day and rid America of its Flock surveillance cameras. Many municipalities have taken down their Flock cameras and ended their contracts--Dayton, Ohio being one. We need more patriots willing to take out "Big Brother" and shut down the fascist state once and for all.

This is a very insightful post and gives information i never knew. I knew our past was checkquered, but didn't really understand in how many ways. How we have gone from freedom for all to only for the wealthy. Gone from welcoming people from all countries, no matter race, color, or creed; to welcoming only the rich who can buy their way into the country. We no longer have Presidents or Congress members who come from poverty, like Lincoln, or from different ethnic backgrounds, like Obama. Most Presidents have been wealthy before they went into office, and even richer after their presidency. One has to ask how that happens? The President's salary is miniscule in comparison to wealthy entrepreneurs. In tRump's case, we know he and his family are grifters, yet nothing is done to stop it.

Our Congress is supposed to represent and speak out for their people or constituents. We are being robbed and Congress is doing nothing to stop the Chief grifter. I want all my money that has been spent on grifts by the tRump Regime back with interest!!!

Thanks for your kind words, Ann. You're so right--We the People deserve all that money Trump spent on grifts back and with interest. But can we really fault those in office who know how to "play the system well" which is inherently corrupt? We the People have allowed this nightmare of a system to grow over 250 years and never put a stop to it. We never put the wealthy white males (and a few others of color and more than a few females) in their place, which should be in prison.

Americans somehow think these super-wealthy individuals are better than the common peoplem and we'll be like them one day. But that quote from Lee Camp really puts an end to that lie: "$1 trillion is an unfathomable amount of wealth. If you make $60,000 a year after taxes, to make $1 trillion you’d need to work for over 16 million years."

I know I'm not willing to wait 16+million years to fix the disparity in incomes. Are you?

It's time to celebrate the 250 years of violence, oppression and genocide the right way... Take out the surveillance state and kill fascism!!

Exactly! It's time to create a nation built on equality and compassion, trust and justice for all.
